Engaged Scholar Meeting

“PiLR Health and Technology Applications for Health Programming”

If you have wondered how to take advantage of smartphone technology in your research be sure to attend the upcoming U-TuRN Engaged Scholar meeting on Tuesday April 16th from 12:00-1:00 in the Cardinal Room at the Union.

The session will be focused on the “PiLR Health” technology that is now available as a U-TuRN resource. The system enables the development of customized applications for a variety of uses but a key feature is the use of ‘ecological momentary assessment’ (EMA) that allows data to be collected in real time using text notifications. Faculty, staff and students involved in Team 3 have been exploring this technology over the past 3 months and have been conducting pilot research to better understand the capabilities and to facilitate visualization of the data for broader usage.

On Tuesday we will be hosting the President of MEI (the developer of PiLR) and he will be sharing the broader potential of this tool and provide examples of how it has been used in a number of large NIH trials. Members of our PiLR hub will also be sharing updates of our pilot projects so that you can see first hand how this tool can be used.

The session will be available through Zoom at the following link:
